Relax.
Ketamine infusion is a calm and peaceful experience.
Getting here
Take public transportation
There are many ways to get to your first infusion, but driving is not one of them. Ketamine is a controlled substance and it is illegal and unsafe to drive yourself home after the appointment.
Use a rideshare app, taxi, or the MTA.
Netflix attire
Wear your favorite hoodie and some sweat pants. If you are coming from work or have to return to work after the appointment, bring comfortable clothes to change into.
We ask you not eat before the appointment. Some patients experience nausea during ketamine infusion.

The Treatment
Tune out the world
Your treatment will last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Listen to some calming music and try some deep breathing techniques. We will be monitoring your blood pressure periodically but will be as least invasive as possible.
Most patients will feel a dream-like state, not fully conscious but also not asleep.
Post infusion rest
Immediately after the infusion you will feel tired and maybe a little bit drowsy. We ask that you stay for another 15 minutes for your the ketamine to wear off.
Stay as long as you need until you feel you are able to get home safely.
