Will ketamine interact with my medication?
During your initial consultation we will discuss your medical history and determine if ketamine is suited with your current medications. You will not be a good candidate for ketamine treatment if you are currently taking narcotics.
What are the common side effects?
Please see the page What is IV Ketamine Therapy? for common side effect.
How should I prepare for my first infusion?
Please see the page Your First Treatment for more information.
Is ketamine infusion covered by my insurance?
Unfortunately ketamine is considered experimental treatment and is currently not covered by insurance.
Can I return to work after treatment?
If it is your first infusion we suggest you take the day off. Your body should adjust to ketamine quickly and you'll be able to return to work same day after continued treatments.
How many sessions do I need?
The current protocol is 6 initial infusions. Patients usually experience dramatic improvement after the first one or two infusions. However it is recommended to complete the initial phase. After the initial phase we suggest patients return monthly.
How long does each session last?
The infusion lasts 45-55 minutes. Most patients arrive early to change into comfortable clothing and remain for 15 minutes after each session.
Is ketamine addictive?
We use a low dose intravenous delivery directly into your blood stream. Study have shown this is a safe and is not habit forming. However if you have a history of substance abuse please discuss this with our doctors during your initial consultation.
